Blocked sink - fixed

Options
My bathroom sink was blocked for 2 days and it was getting beyond a joke because after using several tubs of bicarb and gallons of vinegar, it still hadn't shifted. Also, we have had a new roof fitted which covers the drain from the sink, so it looked like we'd need a plumber AND a roofer. So I spent a fortune and all of Sunday running to the supermarket for Mr Muscle plughole unblocker - which was worse than useless. Yesterday I decided to try B&Q, and bought some super strength 'money back guarantee if it doesn't work' poisonous stuff - plus, a little £1.25 plunger, mainly so I could use it to vent out my frustration.

Guess which one worked? Three plunges and the water just slurped and vanished. :T

Mmm....... I used to poke a chop stick down my kitchen sink to unblock it.

That was until the chop stick itself went for an excursion down the sink cos I wasn't holding it tight enough:o

Maybe a trip to B&Q then in future;)

Our sink was blocked this morning, I went armed with chop stick and it worked a treat. Not quite sure what the gunk was it brought out though. Also use the chop stick for cleaning the tube in the fish tank. Is there no end to the versatility of the simple chop stick? Thanks for the advice guys, the kitchen is now a titanic free zone

    always try a plunger first.
secondly, then remove the trap underneath and clean it out.
most probs can be cured using these 2 methods. very cheap and simple.

imho, chemicals rarely work. and are expensive.
    Get some gorm.
