I have a horrid neighbour like this.Shes in the house on hger own thinking things happen that arent (I'm far too busy!)
These people dont realise the stress their ticke tackle causes others.
I would be polite to her but refrain from entering conversation and avoid her.You dont want to be tarred with same brush.
Sad I know that her life is so miserable all she can do is curtain twitch. These types of people really need to get out more.0 -
Its not my mother in law you're talking about is it......?
Thats all we used to get when we visited, she never realised we didnt care about mrs so and so's athletes foot. Some people are just like that. Luckily for me, we all had a big falling out and I haven't had to go round there since 4th June 2006. Not that i've been counting the days!!
Can you find a polite way of saying you're really not interested? If she doesn't get the hint try turning the conversation onto her daily business and see if she shuts up, maybe she'll leave you alone then?
good luck. If all else fails, just humour her and stear clear of commenting on any of her gossip.Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives

I live in a very small community and I quite having a laugh at people like this, I don't actually know many of my neighbours but know the gossip....my brother often comes to visit me, plus I have quite a few male friends who drop by, I actually like to stir it up and give them stuff to gossip about, I always joke to DH about the amount of men who have been about this week(apart from the fact that most of my male friends are gay....) but I like to give them something to lighten their sad little lives with.
Oh, and the walls are that thin I get woken up by the noisey shower at 11.45 from my neighbours every night......I could set my watch by itOh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0 -
I think alot of peeps have already said how I would deal with it - just rush off saying that you can't stop coz you got an appointment or something...or if you're just outside doing stuff say you can't stop to talk coz you're too busy...if you do this every time she'll soon get the message.
Although she might be lonely she's not doing herself any favours by her behaviour so don't feel guilty on that score, especially as she will definitely be telling all of your other neighbours about any of your business she "knows" - if there's 1 thing I've learned that if someone talks about others to you then they definitely talk about you to the others as well...You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs
