Redundancy and company car transfer

I'm considering take out a new company/lease car to replace my expiring lease but have just discovered my employee has altered the wording of the lease policy/agreement slightly to include a reference for if/when you are made redundant. The line states something like... "In the event of redundancy the employee is liable for the full cost of the lease agreement including any contribution made by the employer and any charges to transfer the agreement" (can't remember the exact words).
There is a potential staff will be made redundant over the coming months, who and how many isn't clear. I don't want to raise this with my employer now, firstly as its not a great time to be seen as a trouble causer and secondly if it is dubious I don't want to draw it to their attention.
I'm wondering if this is enforceable by law?
Surely an individual can't be liable for additional costs due to a decision made by someone else?
How would it even work? The contract is between the lease company and my employer not with me. Would my employer have to continue paying the monthly charges then chase me for the money?
Also, if it is enforceable could they take the money from my redundancy payment or would they have to send me a bill?
Any advice would be appreciate.

Hi - I'm not sure about the legal side of things, but one of my friends was hit with this. Her boss wound up the business and she was expected to continue paying the lease costs for her (former) company car. It was the last thing she needed, being redundant and having £xxxs to pay out each month in addition to other living costs.0
