This can save you money on devices with motors, fridges freezers, etc.
No idea about this particular one though, being sold by the new UW on the block I see.
PS Reread info Cardew is correct re stabilisation, must lay off the Glenmorangie! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Cutting through all the BS it appears to be a Power Factor correction device. The clue is in this statement on potential savings. That depends on many factors; the size of your business, the amount of inductive
motor load.
Without going into the theory of Power Factor(PF) correction, the simple answer is for domestic customers PF correction makes zero difference to bills as we are billed for kWh in UK.
It can make a big difference to very large industrial concerns as they are not billed on simple kWh and PF correction is required.
EDIT
Penrhyn, unless I missed it, it only 'stabilises' voltage and doesn't talk about reducing(typically to 220v) voltage.0 -
It simply reduces the voltage supplied to your premises. This can save you money on devices with motors, fridges freezers, etc.

One can only imagine how large the specific Momentis thread will be by this time next year  I just hope Quentin and Cardew are taking their multivits already.0 -
The guy sent me this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=V53g1GSqCHI and said it worked for residential in USA and he seems to think that it will work in uk. Has he got it wrong ?0

Of course it will, having brought the audience to a fever pitch of near religious frenzy they will buy any old tat.
An ideal business opportunity for out of work timeshare salemen. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
If they worked in domestic situations, why is the government and all the electricity companies not pushing them, like they are pushing insulation, to reduce energy costs?0

I saw this being mentioned on http://www.4networking.biz/Forum/ViewTopic/122879 today.
The guy seems convinced it will work on Residential but having read this thread i have serious doubts.
Momentis dont seem to be much of a threat to UW or anyone else come to that.0 -
They should proof-read and correct the spelling mistakes on the Momentis site.
