A local butcher may well do a deal. likely to be better quality than the supermarket, provided it's a good butcher and not just someone selling from the wholesaler!

When I ran Guides, I asked our local butcher in return for publicity telling everyone where the food came from. He always gave us loads!

Morrisons had 18 baps in a freezer-ready bag for £1 last week - not sure how long that's running for though

  • We had a huge bbq this weekend as part of the jubilee celebrations. We asked around and found that the local PTA used a nearby butcher, who we contacted for a quote. He charged us £225 for 200 sausages, 200 burgers and 400 bread rolls to go with them. We priced the same up at Tesco and it would have cost more. They were really tasty and good quality too, so I would definitely have a scout round your local butchers to see if they will do you a deal.
