Our BT hub works off our phone line in the hall. Most of our laptops xboxes etc work wirelessly with no problems. I know from this phone point to the back of our tv there is an other bt socket, would it be possible to connect another router to the socket behind the tv to run an xbox (wired connection) to receive netflix and such like?
Would it conflicted with the BT hub?
I don't want to move the BT hub as eventually I want to hard wire the bedroom xboxes as I put wires in before I plastered the walls.
Or do you think the xbox would receive netflix etc wirelessly anyway?
Our current speed is 54.0 Mbps

First off your internet speed is not 54Mbps, thats the speed of your wireless link.
Second you cannot have two modem/routers off the same phone line.
If you internet connection is at least 4mbps should should have no probem with video streaming.
If you want to hard wire use homeplugs.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

yes! since we had our v.m.super hub installed have been experimenting to improve its awful range, whilst still using our old netgear wpn 824 as normal.

For anyone struggling to get a decentish signal out of this thing drop the bandwidth down from 300 to 145 mb/s and the wi fi channel up to 13 it now performs better than the old netgear!

Download inssider or netstumbler before you make any comparisons or tests

You can't use more than one router on a single network... but the boxes that consumers tend to call "routers" aren't just routers, and you can often just use the hub/switch and wireless access point to extend the range of your network.

When I installed my new ISP-provided "router", I connected it to my old "router" via an ethernet port on each (via a long cable so the "routers" were at opposite ends of the house). I had to disable DHCP on the old "router" and make sure it was on the same subnet as the new one.

Now my wireless devices connect to the wireless access point on whichever router gives the strongest signal strength...
