Ebay- Autographs

Hi everyone. Been looking at the signed chelsea shirts on Ebay for my OH's birthday. Whats the likliehood of these items being genuine? Some are from powersellers with excellent ratings but I'm quite skeptical about things like this. Any advice?
Was looking at this item number: 260096292666
Thanks- Cheryl

The best person to buy from autographs wise on ebay is autographprincess. She is acredited by that autograph place that authenticates them.

The vast majoirty of signed stuff on ebay is fake.

In 6 years of using ebay Ive met tonnes of people who openly admit to faking signatures as well as witnessing thousands of dodgy auctions.

Many people include certificates which literally stand for "I swear this is legit, gods honest truth"... which is utter meaningless.

Tonnes of sellers show a picture of the celeb signing the item.. only problem is they use that same picture for auction after auction after auction... so its clearly fake.

Only legit signed stuff Ive had is off the grammys auctions.

There are too many fakes around these days, this repects the price as people are unsure whether to buy or not.

i have a genuine champions league football with Real Madrid's Raul signiture on. This is proberly worth around £50 or more, but if i put it on Ebay i wouldnt get £10 for it as i cannot give evidence of authentisity, even though i know its genuine as i know who got the autograph for me.

I also have lots of autographed boxing pictures and photos which to a collector could be worth a few quid, but again i cannot provide any authentisity.

mostly what I was thinking. thanks for all replying so fast. So I guess no to buying anything then! I thought it was unlikely that these were real as they have sold so many of them, where would they have been able to get them all from! Oh well!

Well ironically Id trust smaller sellers who are selling one offs.

Powersellers, I dont trust um, but if you saw a random ebayer selling a signed ticket stub, and they hadnt sold anything else that was signed then Id be inclined to believe that it was genuine.

But signed CDs... framed ones... signed in silver marker pens etc... no way!!!

Why dont you buy a Chelsea shirt, and send it away to the football club for them to sign?

I have wrote to quite a few celebs etc requesting signed photos, and received a few so far. you can see some of them here
I got the addresses from a website I joined. Check my posts for the referrers thread.

Theres lots of people who have sent the stars items, and had them returned autographed.
