that is deliberately mis-leading the buyer into thinking they were getting more than they received, as the particular item could have no way retailed for £27 !!
But if you were to walk into a major store and ask for 3 50ml tubes of Lacoste Facial Scrub, the store would charge you around £27, they wouldn't just give them to you free of charge, so the seller is not mis-leading the buyer.0 -
Sorry but for me Hintza hit the nail on the head.... sour grapes...
Surely we all have more important things to do in life than report someone for selling an item which states "not to be sold seperately".... give the guy a break....0 -

Sez who?
They MIGHT give you a free sample tube.
Or they might direct you to the full size tube @ £x per 200ml.
Would they charge you £27 for three free samples? I think not.
If the item isn't on sale, how can the seller justify showing a retail price without qualifying that?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Just becuase it says 'free sample' that you know they were! would you rather they just threw them away rather then sell them.... or just give them to you?
Don't really know the problem here!!Angel

I think in the interests of diplomacy, honesty, and good customer service, the seller should have done things differently. IMO they should have:
- Obscured or removed the 'free sample' label
- Stated it was a sample
- Stated that it was 'worth' £27 (if that's true) not that it 'retails for'
I'd be annoyed. The amount you bids depends on the perceived value, and you perceive something to be worth more if you think someone's paid for it!
This is why when I post items out, I remove price labels that make it obvious the buyer has paid more than I did! I DON'T WANT TO ANNOY THEM!My TV is broken!

The way I see it is if you're not happy you have 2 options
Option 1... Ask seller for a refund, return the items. Go to a 'major store' & buy aforementioned item at full price..
OR
Option 2... Keep aforementioned item, use it & be happy that you saved almost £20, which you then get to spend on something else.
Decide which option makes you happiest and go with that one.
Having said that, I agree that the seller could & should have worded their auction more appropriately.0 -
Lacoste stuff is dear and theres no way they would hand out full sized tubes.
The tubes were obviously part of some promotion, perhaps acquired by a retailer. Retailers just dont give out full sized tubes like that. It doesnt happen.0 -
If the item is the size/style/colour etc as described in the auction - and you have got exactly what you thought you were getting, (ie it's not a smaller sample size but the same size as desciribed in the auction) then I really don't think it's any of your business where the seller got the item from.
You have time to check out their claims about retailing at xxx or deciding what the products worth to you before bidding, whether their grannie or a major retailer 'gave' it to them is none of our business.
The only possible exception to this i think is where the item is a present.Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -
