i'm going on a mediterranean cruise in July and wondered if my annual european insurance policy is enough to cover me or do you need a specialist cover for a cruise holiday

Should be ok, but without knowing the details of your Insurance and the trip, difficult to comment. Suggest that you speak to your Travel Insurers.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

thanks huckster but what i'm basicly trying to find out is does a standard run of the mill travel insurance policy cover you for a cruise or do you need some sort of taylored insurance for a cruise.

A lot of standard policies won't cover you for missing the cruise due to their being a problem with your connecting flight

Most standard policies I've had have covered cruises, but I have come across some where it is an optional extra.

You need to call the company you are with to see whether it is included or not.
