Were doing a mini road trip to Alton Towers (but am a regular there with merln pass!) next day its WM Safari, day after Warwick Castle.
the forecast for the end of next week is rain
Im taking my 2 little ones 6+4, any tips about the safari or castle would be much appreciated. Do I have to pay for the extras at the castle with my merlin pass?
Thanks in advance.

Warwick castle is included in your annual pass.
If you want some info regarding Warwick castle you could always ask over at Towers Times.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
WM safari - get there early and do the safari first. Backlog builds during the day. Walk all through the funfair to get to the farm area at the end - my kids love it in there as the goats and sheep are very friendly. Queue early too for the sealion show.
Warwick - you can choose to pay for entry to the merlin tower and the dungeon (not being a merlin pass holder I don't know if they're free or not - us non pass holders have to pay for them on top of the regular entrance).
Take picnics to both as food and drink v expensive inside.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Entrance to Warwick castle is included with your Merlin pass but unless you have a premium Merlin pass, admission to the Dungeons and Merlin Tower are are not included (and are quite expensive). If you have the annual pass cups, you can get free refills here.
The Safari park is great although the drive through a little disappointing as many animals are still behind bars. Another good or bad thing about the drive through is that there are no monkeys. One last thing about the drive through is that is worth buying the food as you can hand feed the giraffes, which is great.
The pedestrian part of the safari park is OK overall but a large part of this experience is the funfair (rides are quite good though). The best part of the pedestrian zone has to be the large walk through lemur enclosure. Finally, there is of cause the now obligatory meerkat enclosure.0 -
I would also take your picnic with you to Warwick Castle and either carry it around or get a locker if possible. It is quite a long walk back to the car otherwise x0

No monkeys?? PHEWWW!!! I was going to be speeding through that part, didnt want to lose my windscreen wipers lol, its what put me off safari parks!! Hand feeding the giraffes sounds fab, thanks!!
I have a Magic Pass, its what staff get, so ill ask when we go in what are the restrictions, when we went to London it was like a gold ticket!! No Queuing at all, brilliant!!
Legoland was a different matter!! I always take a picnic ti these places, I wonder if the re fill cups at AT are the same as Warwick castle? I have several types, its so annoying they change them every year!!!! Gahh, I take them all and fill the new one, and top up the others haha!
Thank you all0 -
If it's not too late...take baby wipes to the safari park! Hand feeding the giraffes proved far messier than we anticipated, they dribbled all in the car haha. It was pretty gross. The tiny handwipes they give you when you buy the food aren't great.
The safari park will probably be very busy on a bank holiday so get there as early as you can. I went last Monday and it was pretty much empty, it was really good.Kate.0 -
there are some indoors bits at Warwick Castle but ( for me ) the best bits are outdoors & there are only a few trees to hide under - food etc is expensive (usual rip-off prices) so a picnic is a good ideaproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0
