Capital One Credit card Theft cover

I had my mobile phone pickpocketed on Friday and I had only owned it for a week. I have found out that I am covered under Capital Ones Purchase Protection Policy for theft since I purchased the phone using my credit card. The policy says it will not cover for items purchased outside the UK. I bought the phone from Simplyelectronics over the web who I have discovered are based in Hong Kong. Will this affect the claim?

I would assume you are covered as the purchase was made "in the UK" being that it was made from a computer based in the UK. I imagine if they enforced this you'll have a lot of problems as most online companies aren't based in the UK including sites such as Amazon.

One thing that is important though is that according to the policy you need to have contacted the police within 24 hours of noticing it and have a copy of the police report for the claim.
