Samsung colour laser printer

Options
Looking to replace a canon i965 inkjet as it prints with horizontal faded lines, tried cleaning the print head with water and blowing air through but still not cured. We do not really print very often so looking for a colour laser, as it seems lasers should be more reliable for infrequent users. Having researched it seems that Samsung are popular and having some Tesco vouchers to use find that they have the Samsung CLP 325 for £75.

Now when it comes to replacing the toners it seems that it is better to buy a new printer. The printer comes with toners about 50% full. It is possible to refill but you need to replace the chip as well, everytime I believe. These kits are at least £70. I'm not sure how many toner cartridges the refill will provide.

So are lasers really worth it or is it better to carry on with another inkjet?

My inkjet eats ink. Literally. If you don't use it often the ink gets spat out each time it starts up. The lasers don't suffer that problem.

After more research I think a Brother colour laser maybe better as you dont have to re - chip the toner cartridge, as it uses a mechanical fix.

I bought a Samsung laser, a CLX-2160 all in one copier scanner etc. It's a fantastic printer and the toner that came with it lasted ages. Refilling is easy the kits come with replacement chips that are self adhesive.

It's cheaper to run than any inkjet I've ever used. I'd recommend a laser any day and not just the Samsung, whichever you find that best fits your needs.
