£2,000 for a mobile phone??

I hope someone can put me out of my misery. What gives when a regular mobile phone is listed, usual result approx £180, and it "sells " for £2,000+ ? Do people do this to make their mates look good? What is the reasoning? I've noticed it a couple of times, this is the latest, item: 200086642349. Just generally interested if anyone else has noticed or knows why this occurs. Cheers!

May be a scambuster, purposely overbidding to screw up the fake auction.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

if you look at the bids for the phone youll see that the price jumped from £150 to £900 so yes it could be a scambuster

Sometimes people can clearly see that an auction is the work of a scammer, (or a particular seller is know as a scammer).

They will then bid up the auction to absurd levels in the hope of saving a genuine buyer from getting ripped off.

Unfortunately fleabay are extremely dilatory when it comes to scammers. This is something they should be handling themselves.
