In October last year we had a lot of new fencing erected from a local firm. They advertise that their work is guaranteed. They price matched with another firm and when the work was completed it looked really good, which it would do as new. They asked us to fill in a completion review which said the work looked fabulous.
I painted the fences straight away to preserve the timber. by February the panels were shrinking and gaps were beginning to show but nothing too drastic. As soon as the weather warmed up the shrinkage got worse with one panel showing a One Inch gap. I have rung them everyday this week but still they haven't turned up to even look at the fencing, despite repeated promises.
If it was a few pounds it wouldn't be so bad but we paid £900 for the fencing and I know it isn't up to scratch.
Any advice welcome.

Do you have a written guarantee supplied by them? - you say the work is guaranteed - that *may* just mean they do a good job, actually.
Anyway - what does the guarantee say?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I've never heard of fence panels shrinking by an inch. Can you upload a picture of the problem?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Guarantee will only be worth the paper it's written on. However you may have more luck with the statutory rights, I think sale of goods and services act may be your best bet...if they haven't just vanished now, that is! £900 x a few people easily pays for a new PAYG SIM/mobile number...0
