Have you seen the reviews of that tent on the Argos website?
I notice they are not on the page you linked to.

There are also reviews on UKCampsite.

The living area in those sort of tents isn't very comfortable.
It's better to get one with the bedrooms at the back and the living area at the front.

Don't forget to use Quidco if you get one from Argos.

the only reason i was going with the 6 man tent was that you got all the sleeping bags and airbeds with it

I was just showing you that as an example of the shape I mean.
Don't expect those sleeping bags to be warm though.

    How many will be going?

You'd be better with an 8 man tent, with full standing head room and sewn in groundsheet. You want some 3 season sleeping bags unless you're hardcore and some airbeds or folding beds.

You can get some real bargains on ebay because people buy them brand new and decide they hate it after one trip. I paid £70 for my Hi Gear Zenobia 6 on there.

You want to go somewhere like Go Outdoors and see them in the flesh.

The starter set you linked too would be too cramped for all of you, especially if it rains, you want enough living space to put your seats in and read/play a board game if it's chucking it down.

Well i've not had masses of experience myself to recommend specific tents, my Hi Gear is a rebranded Gelert Horizon and i find it perfect for a family of 4. But I would definitely go over to http://www.ukcampsites.co.uk/ forums and tent reviews section for advice because they're brill. I would just not recommend any unbranded tent from say, Tesco - and these starter packs are generally very basic and not moneysaving.

I did loads of research to figure out what features i wanted (sewn in groundsheet, bedroom layout) then narrowed it down to a few options and scoured ebay local listings for bargains!
