Bought this TV yesterday and im having problems with the Picture settings on it and just wanted to know if anyone has one so i can get some help with it please.
When i turned it on for the 1st time The Picture seem very dark so i have been trying to change it so it does not look so dark but for some reason its not working.
So if you have one what settings do you have yours at?
have to say my old 40in LCD tv looks better settings wise but i always though Plasma was better then lcd.
Also on it i cant turn it off unless i take plug out so when i turn it off it can only be done so it goes into standby which i find a bit strange that i cant turn it off fully by switch on telly like many others.
it gets very warm at the back more so then old LCD is this normal?
any help please.

Plasma does run hotter. Staying on standby is normal, but why not just use a switched socket or extension. For picture settings, etc., you should find all the help you need on AVForums website. There is quite a lot you can fiddle with. I find the picture too dark on "normal" settings, I think I've got it in "movie" mode, not sure, but they are cracking tv's, so you should find a better setting. Good luck.0

I have the 43" version & the screen is quite warm if you hover your hand about an inch from it,that's quite normal.Mine also will only go onto standby only which isn't really a problem.
As to the picture settings,if you press the "P'MODE" button, you can change the settings from "Dynamic" to "Standard" & "Movie",the latter I find too dark.
The's also an onscreen manual if you press "E-Manual" on the remote, but it's really trial & error to get the best picture settings I've found.0 -
Also just to add to my List of problems with it I have seen while watching BBC1 last night that i am getting some Flickering of the screen(i mean you can see white that is flickering on screen) so how can i stop that?
Also i have just checked what Version the software on it and it says Version 001010 so is that the most up todate version?
if its not how do i download it to the telly0 -
rich/spike - not getting the pic bright enough - is there an energy saving, or auto brightness type setting on this tv, as if there is, try switching it off first. If not, there'll be a light sensor in the TV, and the TV will be auto dimming or brightening depending on the conditions in your room at the time. IE even if you set the brightness to 100, it'll be dimmer when the room is dark!
Try avforums.com to see what settings others are using, or maybe spike will share his...0 -

I have looked around the settings and i think there is one but it is off and have turned it off and on but still the same.
Anything white just looks pale to me and i have spend loads of time trying to get it right but still cant also ive put a thread up on AV but not had any help really.
So im still at a lost.0 -
Set it to dynamic, and set the contrast and brightness up to 100. Keep some sunglasses handy! If that's not bright enough (and it'll look horrible), either get your eyes tested or take that TV back!
See if you can try the above on different inputs too - like the internal freeview tuner, a DVD player and a PS3 or something...0 -
Hi,
There is an owners thread here which may be useful;
