What we really need to establish is do YOU have access to the money, or is the money tied up in a bond/trust where YOU can't access it?Many thanks to all who replied. I have the money in the childrens names but to my knowledge childrens saving are taken into account for benefit purposes. Does anyone know if this is still true?I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -
A solution was found. The money was put into a trust and the Housing Benefit Department allowed my claim.0

Before moving over to ESA, I was on income support and had to declare my childrens savings, as they were taken into account.
