FOS response

Options
Hi, I wonder if someone could help me please. I wrote to the financial ombundsman about 2 month ago regarding HSBC bank charges. I read somewhere that they would reply to me acknowledging my letter but I haven't yet heard from them so I'm now wondering if my letter ever arrived in the first place.

Could someone advise please if they do send an acknowledgement that they have received letters and if so how long this normally takes.

Many thanks.

    Hello there Nitla

I work for the Financial Ombudsman Service and am sorry to hear that you have not had a response to your letter regarding HSBC bank charges - please accept my sincere apologise for this.

If you would like to give our consumer helpline a ring on 0300 123 9 123 we'll be happy to look into whether your letter was received and talk you through how best to move your complaint forward.

    Many thanks

Have you complained to HSBC first?

The FOS cannot investigate a complaint unless you have gone through the complaints process at HSBC first. Once HSBC have given their response (or 8 weeks have gone by) you can then refer your complaint to the FOS.
