Sat & Sun - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

• [STRIKE]go to santander re isa transfer[/STRIKE] :(: absolute disaster! messed the whole thing up and the guy transferred money into my fixed isa from last years allowance which means it counts as "new" money and I can't put any more in for this year. Really gutted... (

• [STRIKE]Mr M indian take away out of freezer for dinner[/STRIKE]

• [STRIKE]film, bottle of wine & qt with oh tonight[/STRIKE]

Morning folks

Quite a cold and dull day here today so I think for me it will be:

• Check banking - done
• make PAD - done
• washing on at 30 with extra spin to help it dry quick
• Heating still off (we're all sitting in our housecoats and slippers)
• Do the ironing
• lunch from stores
• visit aunt
• OH taking me out for dinner so no spends on dinner for me
• clean up DS1 old football boots and list them on Ebay
• Update spending diary
• Search online via quidco for cheap football top for DS1 birthday
• update pin number for replacement bank card

Good Morning all!!

Wannabe - I was a bit worried too about the takeover! Hopefully they won't mess around with the whole site too much!

OK, weekend's plan. Grey and grumpy weather here but not too fussed as I have a short weekend as working the bank holidays.

* Wash in and on line inside to dry (Think Mother Nature might have alternate plans for my outside drying)
* Quick tidy round, windows open as a little damp in here (must be since Widow Twankey moved in :rotfl: )
* Check bank, make sure all payments / DDs have gone out.
* Need to re-hem 4 pairs of trousers, they have all decided to drop in the past fortnight
* Quick hoover round
* Get a Mr T shop done at some stage (don't seem to have had any vouchers through for a while?)
* Try and Relax!!

I have had a lazy morning. No ballet for the kids this weekend so i took advantage and stayed in bed reading until my rumbling belly got the better of me!

Today

Housework - no hubby at home as he is working
Decide where to take the kids over the bank hol - we have vouchers from Mr T
Wrap my cousins present for her birthday on monday
Decide on something for hubbys Nan for her birthday
Mr T shopping with £5 voucher off £40 spend - write a careful list
Hang washing outside to dry in this gorgeous weather!

Catch up on paperwork
Games afternoon with the kids

Cool and dull again, life is very quiet here but dont know for how much longer as have eldest grandson here until Monday, and usually him and my little one make plenty of noise, lol. Everything clean and tidy. Today's list

Was planning to go to the pub today as haven't had a drink in a few weeks, but have stayed home and am currently 'investing' some of the beer money on the horse-racing on the telly.

Small stakes to keep me entertained through the day - stuck a tenner in the account so that's the most I can lose. Balance currently £20.13 after a couple of winners (and several glue-factory candidates).

Also, drinking diet pepsi, which I suppose is cheaper than beer.

Afternoon all. Lovely sunny day here so already have washing on line. Am out all day tho so no time for more. Today I have/will

- meals from stores
- keep on top of spending app on phone. Its quite frightening actually :eek:
- keep the spend low
- have been trying to find Glamour mag with That Gal freebie in it. Been to 10 places so far and no luck. Plenty of the other 2 freebies though. I'm beginning to think there are no That Gals out there
- quiet night in with beer from stores:T
