I've had kids, now the youngest is 18 I am free to buy a house, holiday abroad, have social events, days out etc.
So I'm now 48, have the house and the freedom.
Hold on, I've already been doing that. The kids went to decent schools and lived in decent houses - even went on some decent holidays.
Waits to be accused of having my cake and eating it.
What's your point? Would you not have had the time and money to do other things if you chose not to have kids? Obviously that doesn't make one decision better or worse than the other.
If there was another you somewhere who had chosen not to had kids but spent time volunteering, took up flying and dropped down to working 4 days a week a few years ago because that is what he wanted to do instead then who's to say he didn't make the best decision for him?
We've not had kids, yet, but that has very little to do with money. I think my generation (1980s) are seeing children as a choice, rather than the norm. Many are still getting married and having children, and that's great. Some of delaying it and some simply don't want them.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0
