Critical Illness or Accident Insurance?

Fot the last 16 years my husband who is self-employed has had a critical illness policy, (and thankfully has never had to claim) but I'm really wondering if an accident policy might be more suitable - or is it possible to combine the two? Its costing a lot of money at the moment..............but its sods law that if he stops paying the premium, something will happen!

accident policies are lower down the pecking order than critical illness. They have less coverage, are not underwritten to your circumstances and have a lower pay out rate. Indeed, they are generally cash cows to the providers.
Permanent Health Insurance is the plan that is above critical illness in the pecking order and does more to protect your income.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
