Hi

Have a 55 plate Vectra that last few days ive noticed even when the car heater is on cold it is blowing hotter air as the car engine heats up.

Any ideas what it may be along with approx costs coming my way?

When turned to hot - it does get hotter.

Why have you needed the heater?

Probably hot because it is hot. Does the aircon cool it?

When on cold it blows hot - not warm outside temperature air, but hot air. I put the heater on hot to see if it got hotter.

The aircon doesnt work unfortunately - hence needing to fix the problem as stated.

Oh - and it really isnt hot where i live! Its about 8 degrees at the moment.

Very common problem on the Vectra C, remove the glove box and you should see a red lever which is the servo controlling the water valve for the heater matrix. Normally the contacts on the large gear inside the servo get dirty, all you need to do is remove the servo, carefully prise the plastic tabs apart to get inside and clean everything with WD40 and a cloth.

If you take it to a garage they will replace the servo which should be 1hrs labour = £120 including the part.
