Not happy with the decison of my insurance company

Hi,
I am not sure whether anybody could help me give some advice.
Currrently I am insured with Quinn Direct (3rd party fire and theft).
I was involved in an accident in Janaury 07.
I was driving my car along the right side of the road (1/3 of my car on right side) as there were cars parked (legally) on the left side.I confirmed that the right side was clear for me.After driving about 60/70 yeards, I was about to turn my car in a minor road on the left side.
Towards the end of the road, there was a big u shaped bend.Anybody coming from the blind bend (other side of the road) can not see the side of the road on which I was driving , so he/she must stop or slow down on approaching the bend to see whether my side of the road is clear or not.
Unfortunately, the other car involved in the accident did not slow down or stop the car at all.He was in full speed (30) and he ended up in collliding with my car.
Police were called in.They did not make any comments on responsibility of the accident.
Insurance people were informed. They sent their regional manager to see the road and hear the story from me.
He came , took some pictures of the road and took my statement.I also gave him one picture I took on my mobile just after the accident to show the location of my car during and after the accident.
The regional manager told me that other party must be responsible for this acciden and we would fight for you.If it takes long to settle in, the worse scenario may be 50:50. He was assuring me.
I heard nothing from them for last few weks. Two weeks before , I phoned the Quinn Direct to know about the case. They told me that the case has been settled and I have been found liable for the accident.I was surprised and I was asking to clarify me why I was found liable but he just told me that he did not know anything more than what he could see on the screen.
I requested him whether I could talk to the regional manager who came to see the accident spot. They told me that they would arrange it on that day.
Two weeks have gone, the regional manager has not phoned me.They haven't even bothered to send me a letter saying that I have been found liable for the accident. They haven't even felt the need to talk for a single time before taking their final decision of blaming me.
I have talked to my friends and have shown them the accident spot. They are also surprised at the decision taken by my insurance company.
My question is if I could disagree with their decison based on the facts I just mentioned.
If yes, what can I do really? I am sorry for this lengthy letter. I feel totally let down by my insurance compancy. Thanks in advance.

Given the accident circumstances I would have expected a 50/50 settlement as you were already established in your possition on the road however this is without seeing the other side's version of events or if your photo confirms the circumstances (namely that there was a constant row of parked cars on your side of the road).
Clearly you need an explaination from Quinn on their decision to accept liability. If they are not responding adequately to your telephone calls then it may be necessary to put your complaint in writting as per their official complaints process which should be in the documentation they have sent you (normally the policy book).
As you are not claiming injury then I would strongly suspect that this would be a small track claim in which case their admission of liability cannot be withdrawn and therefore as part of your complaint you will need to include compensation for your losses that the TP would have been liable for if it wasnt for your insurers miss management of your claim. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Not the first comment I've heard along these lines about Quinn. Might be worth searching the forum.0
