APCOA Parking enforcement notice

Options
Hi all, some advice would be appreciated. I recently took a friend to East Mids Airport and dropped him off near the dropping off/picking up in a no stopping Zone. When I say dropped him off, I didnt even turn off the engine. Approx 10 seconds was needed and the engine was never switched off. Parking Enforcement Notice's have today arrived in the post, in the form of a letter. It states a charge of £100 is payable for dropping off/picking up in a no stopping zone. The charges will be reduced by 50% if paid within 14 days (£100). I can see from previous threads etc, that other people have had similar experiences. To respond or not to respond, pay or not pay, for this enforcement notice ?.If I ignore this letter do I have a problem in future ?.

Read some more, they have no legal or lawful right to fine you, it is an invoice that is part of an impersonation of authority scam.
Ignore, but wise up about characters they impersonate such as debt collectors and solicitors and they make nasty empty threats, then give up.
    So get reading....
And get ready for lots of silly letters with ever increasing amounts and if you do pay this company are renowned for coming back for more, just like scammers do in mysterious late payment charges.
In short a pressure impersonation of authority scam

its a scam, full stop,,,you have recieved a PARKING charge notice=scam/con/fiddle,not legit, no legal back up=in other words you have recieved loo paper,, so when finished what you usually do with loo paper simply PRESS FLUSH and forget, enjoy week end and celebrations, they are real your phoney ticket is not.worse scenario, if you have a water meter it will cost you 5p in water to press flush, nothing can/will happen as a result of this,,a genuine legit ticket is called a PENALTY charge notice, issued by police/traffic wardens,, these clowns cannot issue anything but loo paper/scam.

Do not contact them, just sit back and wait, and after rising to almost the level of the National Debt, the amount they are claiming will abruptly drop to £0.00 when they realise they are not dealing with a mug and give up. I try to get a ticket each and every time I go to an airport. It's bad enough the shops and coffee bars ripping you off without having a parking company trying to get its snout in the trough too!

Well, people always think their case is a little different so does the advice still apply? We know the answer is yes, but they are worried about it....
  • My daughter borrowed my car and I received a parking charge notice from parking eye for £80 today. She is a student with the NHS and was late with a patient. Do i need to pay it for her or can I appeal it?

You do neither, you ignore it, its an unenforceable invoice for an illegal penalty charge, for an alleged breach of contract, that you never agreed to enter into.

There is no appeals process, its a nonsense, All that happens is your appeals letter goes straight in the bin.

Its a scam, its unenforceable, just ignore all the toothless threatograms they send you in the next three or four months, there toothless. They wont dare take you to court, they havent a leg to stand on, in fact they have just been told this in TWO different Courts in the last week.

You are most certainly not liable just by being the owner- this is not like the Council system. They could only hold the driver liable, but of course they have no way of knowing who that is since you don't have to tell them.

In any case their "charge" has no basis or foundation in law. It is at the level of a try-on and they have no means of enforcing it.

A high proportion of drivers are becoming wise to this and simply don't pay.

That is the best policy here. Simply ignore all correspondence no matter what outlandish threats it may contain. If you do that, they have no way forward. Don't make the mistake of contacting them or appealing. The appeal system is illusory and a total sham.

After sending a few letters and getting no response, they will conclude you weren't taken in by the scam and they will go away. They always do.
