Card Shuffle - Partially completed, need advice

Hi everyone. I am currently trying to cut the interest on my cards so thought I'd come here for some advice. I'm aiming to have all of these paid off by the end of the year or new year at the latest, as I'm paying quite a few hundred a month onto them at the moment, just want to try and minimise the interest.
I actually have 5 cards, but 1 has a long term rate on purchases so doesn't come into this. So here's the 4 cards before I started anything. In total it's about 7k of debt but the exact figures don't really matter, it's advice on the rates and cards I need.
Barclaycard 1 - High interest, about £40 per month on a minimum payment of around £100.
MBNA - Interest free about to end and change into high interest.
BC 2 - Zero balance, low ongoing rate available.
Halifax - Small balance on interest free rate.
So I have basically cleared off the MBNA card this week with BC2 and Halifax, with BC2 having a low rate and Halifax allowing interest free. My intention was to then clear BC1 with MBNA, hopefully on an interest free or low rate. I called up MBNA today and they said as my current interest free doesn't end for a couple of weeks, there's nothing available and a transfer would be at 18%. Although this seems daft to me, as my balance is now zero and I can't use that rate as it was for balances transferred last year, but no matter, it is what it is.
So I'm after some advice on what my best option would be to clear the BC1. Should I just wait for the MBNA thing to finish and then call them back to see what they'll offer me? Or just close the MBNA card and try another way? I can't see me being accepted for more cards, not due to lack of earnings or ability to pay, just that I have too many.
