Does anyone know of the cheapest place I can find to buy a virtual geographic phone number

    Or you can get one from these peeps for a resonable price depending on exchange required. http://www.flextel.com/ they offer good rates to point at mobi if thats what you need.

    Another vote for sipgate, really good experiences with them, much cheaper than skype.

    Wow. Just registered for this and really impressed - have it running off my wireless laptop.

    If i wanted to setup a phone in my house to do this, what would i need? I've a BT wireless router here.

    The magic words are "VOIP Gateway". They plug into the router and produce a physical line you can plug any phone into. Expect to pay around £50 for what you need.

  • I have two separate businessess want two virtual landline numbers which will go through to my home phone number and I need two different ring tones so I know which number is for what business so when I answer I can greet the caller with the business name. Anybody know how to do this.

    BT offer a service called Call Sign, that allows a virtual number to be overlaid on your existing line. Do remember if you dial out, only the main CLI will be shown.
