i would feed the everyone a proper meal at luntime before you leave, have a picnic tea in the travel lodge. Take breakfast with you cereal, fruit, pastries, porridge pots that you only need to put water in. make sure you have enough drinks packed with you for the day . Then perhaps pop to the supermarket and get some snacks etc for on the day at legoland. my experience of theme parks is kids and even parents can do without lunch while they are busy with the attractions, just have a few snacks to keep the hunger at bay. Then healthy meal when you get home.0

We went on Monday. We also stayed in travel lodge in slough. Accross the road there is an overnight car park which is £5 for the night I think its 7pm-9am or thereabouts. It was fine. We went to a wetherspoons around the corner which was 2 meals for £8 and a good selection of cheaper kids meals.
Breakfast in Travel Lodge is £7.95 and kids eat free (up to aged 15 I believe) so we filled up on breakfast there, was really nice tbh. We also took a couple of muffins which were prepacked from the buffet to eat in the park later.
I would definately take a packed lunch and drinks. we didnt but my mil paid for the food during the day so that wasnt an issue for us.0 -

When visiting theme parks we always try and have meals at wetherspoon pubs. The quality is normally the same where ever we go and the price is good. Their breakfast option is normally really cheap.

One of the Wetherspoons in Slough.
Also just check the met office for weather forecast.
Also dont forget that parking at Legoland will cost you £2 thanks to M£rlin.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -

Unfortunately it was a bit of a disaster. 1st ride we got separated as they insisted on measuring youngest dd 3 times so our family were in 2 separate boats (rapids) and half way round the ride broke down. Our eldest dd is autistic and panicked and then set other dd off who wanted her dad but he was in other boat. We waited 10 mins then was evacuated out of the boats via emergency exit. We weren't informed what had gone wrong and took dd a while to calm down.
We then got to 2nd ride, the dragon rollercoaster and queued for about half hour. We finally reached the front and suddenly staff were running past us with harnesses and climbing gear on, followed by engineers. It was all very chaotic to watch and staff wrent telling us anything. As we were at the front dd was in view of everything and was getting more panicked by the minute and setting the younger ones off.
Turns out they'd let a child was on the ride who was too small (I found this unbelievable considerin g they insisted measuring my dd 3 times on the previous ride which resulted in us being separated) and had to stop the ride and evacuate all the passengers. All this was happening infront of us and staff did not tell us what was going on and so people were worried.
After about 20 mins staff explained what had happened and how they didnt know how long it would take and we could either wait or come back later. We had already queded for 30 mins and waited another 20 so we decided to wait, dd was calmer by this point. However after another 10-15 mins of waiting and people beginning to complain the staff informed us that they still had to evacuate ppl off the ride and then they would have to get the engineer to look at it followed by a test run. They said it would take a minimum of 20 mins but could be alot longer. After hearing this my dd went into panick mode and so we left this ride.
Unfortunately we couldnt calm her down and she became convinced that if we went on any other rides we'd all die. We tried for half hour to calm her and her younger sister who she'd set off but to no avail, then it started pouring with rain and so we decided to call it a day and came home.
guess we picked the wrong day and were very unlucky. However we did email legoland about it and they wrote back apologising and are sending us out 6 free tickets to return between now and november so hopefully we can return and have a better day later on in the year

Hi there
If you take proof that your child is autistic you will be given stamps on your hands which mean you can go straight onto the rides via the exit!!
We use this each year when we go and makes the day much calmer for all of us as ds just cannot cope with people being close to him in the queues!0 -
We went 2 years ago and stayed in the Holiday Inn Slough - we took a packed lunch with us, and breakfast was included. On the evening we went to the local pizza place and got take out (there was a Dominos and Pizza Hut within yards of each other) We are a family of 4 and cashed in our tesco vouchers and also used a raring to go voucher that got an adult and child in at a vastly reduced cost - there is a current voucher on there if you pre book that gets each adult in for £22.50 (walk up price £43.40) and children in for £19.99 (walk up price £34.20). If you have already got your tickets obviously this won't apply to you but may help someone else. Good luck with your day - the weather is supposed to be decent! We are hoping to get again in August!Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j
