Travel Insurance With Pre-Existing Condition

My father in law is going to Ireland for a week in July. He is quite ill and we are worried that he may die while over there so have advised him to take out travel insurance. We want him covered for COPD. He is 74 years of age and also suffers from Raynauds disease, angina, and spondylytis.
I've been on a couple of websites and the quotes are coming back at over £600. Is it possible to just get cover for COPD to make the quote cheaper. Ideally he wants to pay less than £80 if possible.

It is possible to have conditions excluded from cover with some providers rather than paying the loading to have them covered. Given age and general health you are going to struggle to get your target price though.0

Thanks for the advice. I've tried numerous brokers but they all say all his conditions need to be taken into account.0

Admittedly I was looking at insurance that comes part of my bank account recently but Natwest gave me the option of paying a supplementary premium or excluding my pre-existing condition. I'd find it surprising they have this option for banking customers but not for direct customers. Likewise the same should exist across most of the RBS Insurance/ Direct Line Group brands0
