DLA RE ASSESSED rate change ?

Was getting higher rate for motability and middle rate for care just sent in my renewal form as was given it for a year ! My situation has worsened which i advised them as my private health finished as i lost my job so my physio stopped ( have a balance problem ) i spoke to my od consultant and advised him they would write to him he said he would explain fully my chronic balance problem which means i cant walk far!
Got a letter today saying they have changed and awarded me the lower rate for motability and care ?
They didnt write to my Doctor or my consultant !
Advice please ?

Appeal the decision and send all the information to DLA that you have (consultant notes, letters, medical records etc). Its the only thing you can do. DLA is based on what help you need, and it may be that your doctors see your care needs have gone down.

The walking limit for 'high rate mobility' is very small - 30 yards or so.
If you can walk this distance, then unless there are other factors that apply - you may not be entitled to HRM.

For mid-rate care - there needs to be either a need for continual supervision, or frequent attention - do you know on what basis the original award was for?
