Congratulations to Martin and the MSE team

I just wanted to start a thread to congratulate Martin and the rest of the MSE team on today's big news. Whilst everyone will have concerns about the future development of the site, Martin should be applauded for going about this in a transparent and ethical manner. His donation of £10m to charity is an incredibly generous act and I hope others will join me in wishing him and the rest of the team all the best for the future.

I hope this serves to counter some of the vitriol taking over the forums today.

I'll join in with the congratulations too. He'd have been a fool to turn down that kind of money, I don't think there's many that would.

Well done Martin. You deserve this. We have all benefited in one way or another from your extreme hard work over the years and we should all be grateful.

You must have a terrible world view if you're somehow upset by the news, or bitter or jealous, or even if you feel wronged.

Martin built a company that has helped hundreds of thousands of people (maybe even millions) and he has made money out of it, what's the problem?

The fact that he has become very rich because of the site surely shows that his advice is indeed valuable and he's good at what he does. Also he's already been making great money for years from this company, it's not like he's just now cashing in.

It's obviously worth it to the company who paid the price.......whether it turns out to be a profitable investment remains to be seen of course.

I liked the independance of MSE-with that gone personally I may not personally find it so attractive though-Time will tell.
