    Yes - I am 33 (34 on Sunday though!!)

I love my new teeth!! we have just had a family phot done tonight - the first photo of me smiling in over 2 years!

Although I only had 2 extractions the gaps closed quite quickly - now they are off I actually quite miss them - it feels like part of me is missing and I need to get used to being smiley!

I got so used to wearing them I didnt feel at all self concious TBH - my kids now say I 'look wierd' without them!

The worst part of the whole process for me was the pain of the braces rubbing on my gums - sometimes it was torturous, but didnt last long - and completely worth it in the end.

Oh, I can't wait to be in your position! My mouth is sore now because of the rubbing, I have abadoned the wax in favour of just getting use to it. Its not very nice but I'm sure like you said it will be worth it in the end!

say after getting braces and the teeth are all nice and straight but are still jaggered, do they level the teeth for you too, or will that cost more money?

Say you tell us all why you're asking loads of little dental questions?

Why not just say tell us all what's going on in one big question that I can get my teeth into.

    Say.

    :D
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Hello. Can anyone tell me if they have heard of the NEW clear fast working braces.

I will have braces put on in September and my orthondontist just email me telling me I would qualify for the new style braces.

He said that they are clear and work faster. Apparently they have been waiting for them for years and they are only out now.

Can anyone tell me if they know what he is speaking about and if it is really good?

    Thanks

    Sandra

There is a system called Invisalign, but it's been around for a fair while.

I'm not sure about the 'faster' bit - as when you're moving teeth through bone, the rate at which you can do it is governed by the rate at which bone dissolves, and reforms in the new position. If you try and move teeth too quickly, then you risk damaging things!

I would be interested to know what 'system' this is too. Please let me know if yo get more info.

He would have the option if it were suitable (It can only deal with a narrow range of problems), and you wouldn't be poo pooed!

You would be charged privately though.

Never poo poo a private patient!! :D
