Thanks guys, we used to own our own house and when we we selling the agent nearly lost the sale for us by mis-communication so good point, luckily we had direct contact with our buyers and are still friends to this day! (different agent btw)
Pretty sure he doesn't have her email, he doesn't even like texting lol! But maybe an address...
Just want to get this sorted ASAP... We have asked to negotiate the rent via the agent, I am going in there again as 3 days on still haven't heard anything back from them...0 -
Personally I'd just ignore them from now on unless the rent increase is notified to you in the correct format then you don't have to do anything.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

As said, from a legalperspective, you can just stay.
From a diplomatic perspective, I would clarify things with both the landlord (via email? via the mutual friend?) and the agent (using email as before.)
Make sure the LL knows what the agent is (or is not!) doing). Often LL's are not kept informed and agents take all sorts of decisions on their own.0
