Virgin Media change settings

When OH tries to access google home page on desktop (xp) we get a header 'changesettings.virginmedia.com/proxy' and no home page. Looking on the net I see VM have been having router problems but not sure if that is what applies to this (I posted on one of the threads in the Broadband forum to see).
However I can access google home page on the laptop (windows 7 - we're on VM wifi) with no problem and we have the same settings.
I'm wary of changing any settings on the desktop if this will be sorted shortly and would be grateful for any advice and suggestions what to do.

On his desktop, go into the Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings.
If there is a tick in Use Proxy Server, and the address box below has the address webcache.virginmedia.com , then he should delete it and remove the tick then click OK twice to close the dialogue boxes.
Otherwise he needs to click the link corresponding to the browser he uses and follow the instructions provided. How do I add a signature?0 -
That's great - many thanks for the help. It worked and has also helped his blood pressure!0
