Friday 1st June (lol) not May - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning yawn! up early today DS woke me at 4am - and he's now sleeping again - lucky him!

Busy day today, off to work, Zumba lunchtime and having my nails done for the wedding at 3.15 then cleaning, cooking etc

Got bits and bobs to get still - a bag, cake ingredients and some stuff for DS but just about sorted for the wedding. Less than a week now.

I had a cheque in the post from a relative which was lovely! we havent really announced the wedding I don't know who knows we are getting married

Off now to sort school stuff have a good day all

Thanks nat for starting the thread. Don't you love kids who can wake you so early then drop back off to sleep but you can't.

Less than a week for the wedding. You must be so excited.

I'm baby less today as he is spending the day with his godparents as a trial run for when they look after him when I go back to work. While it will be nice to get things done without a clingy baby wanting me all the time it does feel strange knowing he won't be there.

    My list today

    [STRIKE]Check banks[/STRIKE]
    Surveys
NSD - just fruit for DD but that's budgeted for in the grocery budget so doesn't count
    [STRIKE]Sewing[/STRIKE]
    Pick up prescription
    [STRIKE]Type stuff for church[/STRIKE]
    Sort through some craft stuff
    Sort knitting bag
    [STRIKE]Knitting this evening[/STRIKE] Sneaked a bit in earlier ;)
[STRIKE]Crafting with DD this afternoon after school while it's just the 2 of us[/STRIKE]
DD swimming this afternoon - shower and wash her hair there
[STRIKE]Decide on outfit for tomorrow's jubilee party[/STRIKE] Decided and made - not bad for 1 1/2hr work ;)
    [STRIKE]Daily clicks[/STRIKE]
    Meals from stores

Thats all I can think of for now. Waves to all who follow

    Happy Friday everyone

    Morning all,

Crikey Natlie, I was just going to sleep at 4am!! Thanks for starting us off.

DNMS - You must be SO excited!!

Last day of work!! Hurrah. Shame I work for an organisation who don't believe in the Jubilee so have to work on Tues! But still a three day weekend!

    Today's plan of action:
    * Check bank
    * Check CC
    * Obsess over budget for the month, including OH birthday, Father's day and a couple of minor birthdays!
    * Work - Will have to buy lunch
    * My boss is having a body shop party this evening, am going but aware it's likely to be an awkward evening! Not going to buy much, if anything, but given myself a £10 if there is something. Plus the boss is cooking me dinner so a pretty MSE evening all in all.
    * Need to put fuel in the car.

    Have a brill day all

    S x

Morning everyone, and thanks to nat for staring the thread.

Work for me today as I swapped my days this week. I normally have Wednesday and Friday 'off' (but work twice as hard on my own business!) so next week I've booked one day's leave for Thursday and ended up with the whole week off. :j

    My list so far:
    • HM granola for breakfast
    • fed and watered chickens
    • made lunch to take to work
    • checked banking - okay at the moment
    • checked for surveys
    I will also:
    • get a lift to and from work with a colleague
    • charge phone at work with boss' permission
    • drink free coffee at work
    • keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
    • dinner from stores
    • free exercise tonight walking around the village handing out free Jubilee/Olympic torch mugs to all children
    • have an NSD
Nothing huge on the list, but this IS the small things thread after all. I'm looking forward to my week off as I have a very full order book at the moment and I'd like to catch up. :D

Morning everyone hope its a lovely day where you are.

My diet (healthy eating thing) starts today - so need to buy some veg and fruit from Mr T (clubcard vouchers if I can find them OH lost them)

Washing on line - nearly on top of it

Send belated card to friend along with a £50 Strada voucher I won a while ago - she deserves a treat - far more than I do

    Mending some clothes.

Start building up exercise again on my exercise bike - still my best EVER freecycle find!

Check PPH see if lucky enough if any bids accepted

Get the last bit of clothes ready for eBay

Then treat myself to a pamper night tonight from the samples I have built up for a while when OH is out

    All good fun x
