ESA waiting

I went for my medical assesment for ESA on 29th of Feb this year and still haven't heard anything back yet, im still getting paid my Incapacity Benefit but i need to know where i stand as i use what money i get to run my car and pay my debts, and since i suffer from autism i find it virtually impossible to communicate with people either on the phone or face to face, and don't like talking to people i dont know, hence why i rely on my car and dont use public transport. However if my benefits stop i will need to find some way of earning money just to keep myself going,
I usually let my dad deal with any communication i need to do and have to give authorisation to let him speak on my behalf when phoning people, but he's told me to just wait and hear from the dwp instead of ringing them up, but since i've been waiting nearly 14 weeks now im starting to get anxious is there anyway i can find out or is it normal to wait this long for a decision?

It can take some time, don't worry too much about benefits stopping as you can appeal and you will be paid assessment rate and get backpay if you win your appeal. Besides the longer it takes the longer you have on IB“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

They might be writing to your GP or consultants to ask about the level of your Autism ( assuming you have one). Get you Dad to check with your GP on your behalf if they have been asked to complete any forms. If so and they are slow to do so - that might be part of delay, or it could simply be lots of people being changed over and causing huge backlog. More the latter I'd think, especially since they have not written to you yet. Do not worry.
I have been waiting well over 13 weeks now and have only just been told I must have a medical, which is happening 19th June. And that since Feb 2012. Meant to happen inside of 8 weeks to hit 13 week target, so there is definitely large delays.0
