Firstly I am not with BT, so I can not vouche whether this works, so please use at your own risk.
I have seen a number of posts from people on various forums and there was one on these forums about the speed problems that seem to have appeared since upgrading for free to 2mb adsl broadband.
I found a link that MAY give a possible solution to this problem

This works for the BT adsl modem Voyager ONLY

THANK YOU!
Thats probably exactly what I have been waiting for... i'll try it in the morning and see if it fixes the problem. If it works, the router is going in the bin... because clearly its crap.0 -
It's probably just an MTU and RWIN tweaker.
These settings need to be changed in both your router and PC if you upgrade from 512k to 1 or 2Mbps.

That quite possible it's mtu rwin tweaker.
BT did supply a program a while back, however if it is a mtu rwin tweaker, why just this piece of hardware?Toxteth_OGrady wrote:It's probably just an MTU and RWIN tweaker.

Dunno
Don't own one.
Alternatively it could be a firmware update to boost the 802.11g wireless to 108Mbps.

I don't have one of those, but my guess would be because mtu change is hardware dependent, i.e. you cannot have the same general method of changing mtu for different architectures and devices.0 -
I am learning all the time from you Toxteth and DVB. As you know I am intent on getting a Draytek Vigor 2600VG. Given what you are saying about MTU/RWIN is this likely to cause problems for my low speed (256k) broadband?0

Just need to set the optimum MTU and RWIN in both your PC and router for best speed.
I'll post a link shortly to help you out.

Not at all. Vigor is an advanced business-class router, and as such can be operated from the command line by telnetting into it. Almost every single parameter can be changed this way. Take a look here, number 11 http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/router_faq.html0
