" For top notch, free protection a combination of Avast Free Antivirus and ZoneAlarm Free Firewall is your best bet. "

One option for using Comodo is their free suite here

Usually, if you use check for updates a few times it updates itself to the 2012 version0 -
windows firewall will give you a lot less trouble, and a speedier pc, along with free avast AV instead of avg.
comodo if you must.!!

I'd agree with closed & say just use the Windows firewall.
If you want alternatives to look at, take a look at Online Armor (now owned by Emisoft).

I run a hardware firewall, a nokia box running SecurePlatform, with CheckPoint firewall. The makers claim no one has ever breached Checkpoint.
Its top of the range, but then its £3000 for the licence........I got it free, but thats another story..................
The moral is you cant beat a hardware firewall,. At least run Zonealarm on a separate box with two network cards. In actual fact, my Raspberry Pi will get tested for this function when it turns up......**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. I would think its full of holes by now, ten years worth of virus development later..........**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts.
