Weve needed a carpet in the living room for years. It's all manky and stained looking and as its cream everything shows. So last weekend I had £225 and thought it was finally enough to get a carpet but the shops wanted £220 for a decent carpet alone, the rooms not even that big but its just over the cut off amounts so was more expensive.
Me being me I found everything I wanted online for so much less. In the store they wanted a small fortune for the carpet gripper strips. Well i found them for well under half price online. I brought one morning they arrived the next ! I was so shocked.
I got the underlay for £35 for the whole room on the fanciest version too I could have got it cheaper it's the same company so again took 24 hours to arrive. and was well over 50% cheaper , the shop wanted £7.99 per square metre for the same stuff. it was from "Underlay_shop" on ebay
The last thing we found was the carpet, i was dubious as ordering online you cant see it but this company sent us samples of lots of carpets and it again was well over 50% cheaper for the virtually same carpet as we wanted in the shop in fact i ordered it slightly bigger from this supplier too and it was still over 50% less. I was so pleased.
It arrived today rolled not folded and the delivery guy even popped it up the stairs to keep it flat for us. The carpet was from " more for your floor uk" on ebay.
I just hope it helps someone else as i was so shocked at the prices in the shops last week I'd presumed £225 would be enough for a carpet for a room which is 3.25x4.35m to us the rooms weeny but in carpet terms it seems to be expensive.
