Btw, I wouldn't erase all partitions, as laptops frequently have hidden recovery and diagnostics partitions. It might be advisable to work only with the biggest partition (on which Windows is/was currently installed), as that way you can always restore your laptop to its original state (might be useful if you have a hardware fault and need to contact technical support). That way you'd loose some hdd space, but it shouldn't be much, and the safety of the option should outweight the need for the couple of extra GBs.0

You'll find all the info you need on this subject in the original bargain thread. (It's hiding in the "It's gone, but was it good" forum). You'll find everything you need to do a fresh install of XP and deleting the back up partition (links to drivers, etc), as well as instructions on how to get rid of NAV and NIS (and all the other crap) should you wish to not bother with a new OS install. There is also advice on Ram and sticking in a mini PCI wireless card.
