I ordered a personalised metal sports watch from Artscow with my father and his grandchildren's photo on it. I have used the company before for other persoanlised items, but not had the watch before. They are based in China so you would have to order quickly to get in time for Father's Day. I used code on the front page GIFT4DADS to get the watch for $6.99 (£4.50ish) with free delivery. Maybe you could save a photo of something golfing to upload to the site and do a watch with that on it?

What about a photo mug? I bought loads at christmas for relatives, with fave photos and a personalised message, was quite cheap. think i got a code of mse at time for snapfish. (only problem is my dad won't use in case he breaks it! doh!!)

Or a canvas photo? I've seen them as well on there, but bought mine off ebay, just sent a photo to the email address, proof checked it and was really pleased with picture.

in past have also bought digital key ring off argos (in one of their sales), more expensive, was a photo frame version loaded with pics.

Cheaper ideas are getting the kids to colour in a "place mat" (read a4 piece of paper) then laminating at work. Similar cut out version as a coaster.

or Decorated plant pot (with plant) also a winner.

  • Why not ask him what he wants? If you buy him something for the sake of it, it will more than likely go unused. I have piles of photo mugs and keyrings of my nieces that I have never touched apart from unwrapping them then putting them in the cupboard.

Doesn't have to be expensive, and if he wants it- the chances are it will be used. Yes it is the thought that counts, but money saving is money saving ;)

The perfect gift, just choose the options in the drop down menu on the left to make it special or humourous or whatever (e.g best dad) and fill in his details

Seeds so he can grow his own food? He doesn't need a garden as many varieties can be grown in pots. How about mushrooms? These oyster mushrooms are for windowsills http://www.suttons.co.uk/Gardening/Vegetables/Vegetable+Plants/Mushroom+Windowsill+Kit+-+Oyster_232475.htm#232475

thanks all. Unfortunately, we don't have children ourselves so won't be able to use some of these ideas. Keep the suggestions coming though -other readers may be able to use them!

he's a tricky guy to buy for as he has pretty much everything he needs. He does have a "daft" sense of humour & is very food-orientated, so one year I bought him an extendable fork.
