Abbey National Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance

I have written to Santander with regards to Mis-sold Mortgage PPI from Abbey National. Santander has rejected my claim and stated that there is no trace of a Mortgage PPI policy held under my name. They have asked me to provide evidence of me taking out this policy with Santander. I do have evidence, but will Santander pay out because of Abbey Nationals error? Have you experienced this scenario?

No they wont just pay out, only if found to be mis-sold. Santander took over Abbey so are responsible for the complaint.

Please tell us what law this is? Has some change in the law happened over night that will invalidate every single insurance policy issued in the UK?Santander has rejected my claim and stated that there is no trace of a Mortgage PPI policy held under my name.
Unlike other types of PPI, mortgage PPi is standalone. It is not factored into mortgages. So, on older pre-regulation cases, they may not have an absolute record of an MPPI being sold. Also, if you used a mortgage broker, they wouldnt know what insurances you bought (and dont have liability for them either).but will Santander pay out because of Abbey Nationals error?
What error? There is nothing wrong with MPPI as a product. It is generally regarded as the one PPI that is worth having. It has fewer complaints than other types of PPI and has a lower uphold rate as well as it doesnt suffer many of the other issues. It can still be mis-sold, like any product, but it doesnt suffer the same way as other PPI.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
