Credit Card Insurance - Am I covered?

Options
Hi

Bought my son a pay as you go - 5 weeks ago for £129 and our lovely dog has chewed it up! Thanks Millie!

I'm definitely not covered on the household insurance but would I be covered on my Tesco Credit Card?

Has this happened to anyone before?

Many thanks
Terrysdelight

I doubt very much...there was nothing wrong with the phone or supplier...have you checked with tesco if your card come with some kind of insurance?

Lots of credit cards provide free 'accidental cover' for purchases over £100 for around 90 days.

I was wondering if this type of incident is covered?

I've just found out a bit more on the internet - a bit old though - in 2006 Tesco added Credit card protection for 90 days against accidental damage.

They may have cancelled this now there office is closed till tomorrow so can't find out for definite.

Knowing my luck, if they haven't withdrawn their protection, they probably have a bit of small print which 'excludes damage caused by pets'.

Which office? AFAIK they are open 24 hours.

But I can say with almost 100% certainty that they don't offer insurance.

    I don't think so.

I had a claim about 6 years ago for some damage which was about 500 and the following year, my policy premium shot right up. That was my only ever claim in about 20+ years. I can't help be of the opinion to only ever claim if it was a really big loss.
