I just wonder if anyone has any views on Faraday Research, a share tipping company. They seem to have a really good track record (it is available on the website)

SPAM meaning the company is rubbish, or you are just ignoring my email?
They don't seem to have any reviews online, and am curious if anyone has been using them.0 -

This poster has just asked the same question over in the pub at Motley Fool, but they've been around there for a while.
Benefit of the doubt on this one IMO.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Spam meaning that your first post is suspicious.
Nine times out of ten, when someone joins the site and instantly asks about a company in their very first post (especially when they say things like "they seem to have a really good track record"), they are really trying to promote that company rather than asking a genuine question.
We've seen it so many times before, and a myriad of variations on the theme, that we are naturally suspicious when people do it.
Unfortunately, that does sometimes catch genuine posters with genuine enquiries.0 -
Haha. Thanks. I did just post on MF indeed.
At least I get an idea of what people here think of share tipping services...0 -
We use WHOIS to find out when a website was registered; we look to see whether or not a company is registered at Company House; we Google names and postcodes found; we look for bad English on a website; we look for suspiciously vague but enthusiastic testimonials and other red flags...
we also look for positive statements from MSE posters who have been around for a long time and whom we can trust.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Don't worry, we're (mostly) a friendly bunch, but there is a lot of spam from low post count peeps hitting the site.
Anyway, yes, share tipping services always concern me. If you're so good, why not invest your own money and make millions rather than trying to take a few bob from me?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
