GE and club la costa

I have done a search of the site for the information I'm looking for but am drawing a blank.

I have around £25K on a loan with GE that I was missold PPI but this was taken out in Spain and sold to me by Club La Costa. I have read a thread about pushing GE for this and going for their parent company Santander. But GE have washed their hand of it saying they didn't sell it to me it was CLC. I have checked with the FOS and they say yes I need to take it up with CLC, I can't see the FOS giving me duff information.

To press CLC are simply not replying to my letters.

So a very simple question. Has anyone that has had the same sort of loan from CLC ,and there must be quite a few, had any money back?

Put the complaint into FOS, tell them you have not had a reply from CLC, they will help you.

The FOS has already told me that they will not look into this, something to do with CLC not being covered by them.:(

I think I'm either on my own or just drop it and carry on paying.

Santander are not the parent company of GE. Santander bought out GE Capital from General Electric. GE/Santander are not responsible for the advice Club Costa gave you. Santander are lender, not the seller or broker of the loan/insurance. So mis-sale complaints need to go to the seller.

The problem you have is that these sales are prior to FOS jurisdiction, so FOS have no say. I've not heard of anyone having any success due to this. You need to contact the Finance and Leasing Assocation (FLA) and see what they say.

HI, I am new to the site and have a very similar problem. Outstanding a balance of approx £24000 and a in the process of writing to Barclays , as the finance is with them. Do I also need to write to CLC as well and what are the other options. I cannot continue to pay the repayments..

Yes your right, I think it's time to drop it and move on.

I have many issuses with clc not just this one, I won't go on as they will have all been covered on MSE before. On the possitive side we have some cracking holidays, last week in scotland was no different. I even got to vent a little steam when the rep knocked on my lodge door, by the time I'd done with her I bet she was wishing she hadn't bothered.

I've also had a finance arrangement, sold to me by Club la Costa, with GE money, on which PPI was added without my knowledge or consent. I've complained to GE Money, who have said I need to take it up with CLC and they've forwarded the compaint to them.
But this thread makes me wonder if there's anything to gain by pushing this - especially roonaldo's point about it being beyond the jurisdiction of FOS.
How would I go about complaining to the FLA?
