PILON - what does it include?

I am about to be made redundant and haven't yet seen the offer to me! Can anyone tell me if London and car allowance are included in the payment? Thanks

    I was made redundant a few weeks back, my PILON included

    - Salary
    - PMI
    - Employer pension contributions
    - Holidays
    - Bonus
    - Car allowance

    so I imagine you will get the London allowance as well. It ended up a lot more then I thought it would be with all the elements added in

    I got salary, car allowance, healthcare overpayment, annual leave for full year, bonus - not sure what's happening with pension but I def didn't get those payments.

    They also screwed up cos they didn't apply my pay rise to the salary upon which the payment was based! they did correct when I pointed it out and were very apologetic. Overall have to say I was happy with the payment - now just trying to use the money wisely!!!

    PILON is Pay in Lieu of Notice so as Ian says this includes anything that you would have recieved during your notice period in £cash payment.

    Redundancy compensation would be paid as well, you can work the figure out yourself here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/redundancy.dsb

    The above is for statutory redundancy pay, you may well be entitled to something different depending on your company's policy and your terms and conditions. If it doesn't say, you most likely get statutory.

    Also note, when your company discuss compensation, it isn't an 'offer'. At the point you are actually made redundant (at the end of consultation if nothing has changed and your not redeployed) then you'll receive a statement confirming the compensation that the company wish to make. Unless PILON has been discussed with you before hand you may be required to work your notice.

    Pension can differ and you will receive your options once you have left. You can always call the pensions department and ask them what to expect?
