in Credit cards
I had an Egg credit card 8 years ago. I cant really remember when I closed the account. Maybe 6 years ago. I have the card number. I contacted Egg who said Barclaycard bought out the credit card part of the business and to contact them. I contacted Barclaycard who said to contact Egg! I dont even have any printed statements as I done the online statements with them...do I have any chance of locating a transaction I made 8 years ago on this card!??

Why do you need to?
Given the statute of limitations gives 6 years from the date of knowing many will delete records after 7 years.
You could do a SARS request for £10 but if their archiving is only for 7 years or is not in a suitable manor to allow simple recovery then you may not get anything0 -
Not sounding good, is it?
I'm not sure that egg would have been able to provide you with these details from 8 years ago even if they hadn't sold it all to Barclaycard.
When I log in to Barclaycard I can see statements for the past year, including some from when it was still with Egg. But nothing older than that.
So I doubt that anyone would have these details readily to hand. Don't know if companies have a duty to hold this information for a certain number of years. Even if so it might cost quite a bit to get them to actually give you the info.0
