Remember that, if you are a member of the Co-Op, you do receive a "dividend" on the balance in your current account, whether it is with Smile or the Co-Operative Bank.

Note that you will now pay more to RING the co-op, personal bank account enquiries old number (their most used number) was 08457 212 212, their new number is now 08448 44 88 44, this will cost 5p a minute (plus I assume connection fees), probably even more from a mobile phone.
For me the old number was "free" because I paid £5 a month extra to my phone provider and ISP as a flat rate to include the cost of 0845, 0870 and 01 02 and 03 numbers.
Needless to say I will be complaining - and if that doesn't work I will refer the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to p*** us off.

You can use 01695 53760 - useful if you have an all inclusive calls package to standard geographic numbers.

Been with Smile for 12 years. Just had £50 compensation from them for a screwed up transfer. Yesterday my wife's Smile credit card was declined despite having £2500 in various accounts with them.

Probably time to look elsewhere I think as IMO they have gone backwards over the years.
