Call them and ask.
If you bought whatever it is online, you have the Distance Selling Regulations behind you which means you can return it for a refund within a certain amount of time. You might have to pay postage.
Mostly, when this happens to me (usually clothes), I call the company up and they will apply the lower price."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Oh and don't be annoyed when you call them. My old mum says that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Would you be asking if the price had gone up to £189.
You were happy enough to order at £159 - prices go up and down every day for a variety of goods and services.0 -

Yep, assuming it is within the scope of DSRs. OP should give more info. DSRs wouldn't apply to a one-off sale (eg person to person) or business to business, or for certain perishables etc. Else yes, this is useful bargaining chip.0 -
I have had this occur on several occasions and I appreciate it is very frustrating.
My understanding is that the retailer is under no obligation to offer you the reduced price, however when I have expressed my disappointment at missing out on the reduction I have found they usually offer to refund the difference.
Always worth a try0
