    Call them and ask.

If you bought whatever it is online, you have the Distance Selling Regulations behind you which means you can return it for a refund within a certain amount of time. You might have to pay postage.

Mostly, when this happens to me (usually clothes), I call the company up and they will apply the lower price.

Oh and don't be annoyed when you call them. My old mum says that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. ;)

Would you be asking if the price had gone up to £189.
You were happy enough to order at £159 - prices go up and down every day for a variety of goods and services.

Yep, assuming it is within the scope of DSRs. OP should give more info. DSRs wouldn't apply to a one-off sale (eg person to person) or business to business, or for certain perishables etc. Else yes, this is useful bargaining chip.

I have had this occur on several occasions and I appreciate it is very frustrating.

My understanding is that the retailer is under no obligation to offer you the reduced price, however when I have expressed my disappointment at missing out on the reduction I have found they usually offer to refund the difference.

    Always worth a try ;)
