Is tiling easy?

How easy is it to tile? I've just had double glazed fitted in my kitchen and bathroom and some kitchen tiles have broken, will not be able to match them up as i fear the tiles are about 10 years old. Underneath is another set of tiles and i read on here some time ago you can't re tile over 2 sets.

So is it a DIY job removing 2 sets of tiles and putting a fresh on or is it a job for a company?

Well I would suggest removing all tiles back to plaster if you cant get replacement tiles. You might have to get some patching plaster to fill any holes. As to how difficult it is that depends on how many corners & complex areas there are? Plug sockets etc...

You need to make sure you have a good level before starting - if your walls are pretty flat and there isn't much cutting involved then its not too difficult...

not very hard at all. just a bit time consuming for an amateur.
a manual tile cutter can be had for about 10/15 quid. an electric one for 30/50 quid.
look on the net for info on marking out techniques, levels etc.
use the correct adhesive for bathrooms.
