Putting husbands name on birth certificate - not the father

Hi OP,
Just a word of advice. I was in a similar situation with my son. My husband wanted to adopt him, however when we seeked legal advice we were told that we would both have to adopt him and replace his birth certificate with an adoption certificate for both of us. Now there was no way I was going to adopt my own son!!!! so instead we applied to the courts for parental responsibility for my husband and changed his surname by deed poll to mine and hubby's surname. All his legal documents, i.e passport etc have mine and hubby's surname.0 -
